About The Colloquium
From UCL Undergrad Maths Colloquium
The UCL Undergrad Maths Colloquium meets weekly during term to discuss and share interesting mathematical topics outside of (or complimentary to) our normal lecture courses. Each week an undergraduate gives a talk on a mathematical subject or problem, e.g. p-adic analysis, analytic number theory, general topology. We occasionally spend time working through problems from said talk.
The Colloquium was founded in Jan 2010 by Matthew Eric Bassett and Acyr Locatelli, who noticed that both themselves and their peers were doing significant mathematics reading in addition to their courses and thought their should be a forum for students to share such work.
